From our social clubs, homework groups and various services, there is always something going on to get involved with at Pearls of Cheshire... but every now and again there will be something a little extra going on!
Here we have a selection of the special events we have hosted throughout the years...
With Christmas fast approaching, what better way to round up the year than a Christmas Coffee Morning, Pearls fo Cheshire-style!
We had a fabulous time, with plenty of tea and coffee but the real stars of the show were, of course, the hot chocolate and mulled wine!
A few rounds of bingo, a raffle and lots of friendship, chatter and laughs made a perfect Christmas send off for 2022. We have had such a wonderful year getting to know all the wonderful ladies who visit us and helping to facilitate a community being built here. Watching friendships build between all ages and backgrounds is truly the heart of what Pearls of Cheshire aims to build here in Macclesfield and we are so excited to see what 2023 can bring!
In 2022 Pearls of Cheshire hosted two pop up fundraising markets in July and October. The July event in particular boasted some of our beautiful Summer weather and at both events a wonderful time was had by all!
A fun-filled family day out we had bouncy castles, face painting and entertainment from the fabulous Sinini Ngwenya who got many people up on their feet and dancing along with some beautiful traditional traditional songs.
Well attended by local businesses and families alike we are looking forward to being be to host more pop up markets in 2023!
Our 10 week poetry club ran up to the Jubilee in June of 2022. Our poetry club members came and wrote freely to express their emotions, thoughts and feelings with poems from different backgrounds and cultures allowing us all to experience and understand one another on a deeper level.
The range of wonderful women who came to join the poetry workshops ranged from 20 year old young mums to 91 year old grandmothers and everything in between and truly showed the power art and creativity has for bringing people together.
In August 2022 we held a body image workshop to help boost the confidence of young people in the local community.
Sylvia Nwokolo, a certified health and nutrition life coach, very kindly donated her time for the day to help our young people to build their connection to their bodies, build their identity, overcome negative body images and to develop some winning habits to boost their self image.
With an estimated 1 in 8 boys unhappy with how they look and 1 in 7 girls feeling the pressure to look good* we are very pleased to say this workshop was a roaring success.
Attended by 16 local children aged 8-16, our children went away with more confidence in themselves, and in their ability to overcome negative body image.
This workshop is most certainly something we are hopeful to repeat in the future and is something we strongly believe is needed to help strengthen the resilience of our young people in today's modern world.

At Pearls of Cheshire we held out launch event in Prestbury Village Hall on the 12th of December 2021.
It was a fun filled evening with lots of support from local services, including; Cheshire East Council's Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Development Lead, Emma Storey, then Deputy Mayor and now current Mayor Councillor Fiona Wilson, Mark Gleave - Wellbeing manager at Healthbox CIC and representation from Macclesfield hospital's breast screening department and from Macclesfield Artspace!
We spent the evening presenting Pearls of Cheshire to a wonderful and diverse collection of local community members, with speeches from service providers, our own team and Councillor Fiona Wilson. The evening even included some dancing led by Out Of Africa Rhythm Club's Jean, and some of the children from Pearls of Cheshire. Traditional Zulu dancing got everyone up on their feet and learning together - what better way to launch Pearls of Cheshire?
